Kirk Hammerton Parish

Kirk Hammerton is a village of lower Nidderdale in the Vale of York between the ancient walled city of York and the spa town of Harrogate; in general terms the parish is bordered to the north by the A59 and to the south and east by the River Nidd and to the west by Rudgate, a Roman road. It has a population of about 500, the 2011 census results can be seen here. The railway line between York and Harrogate, which goes on to Leeds, has two stops in the parish, Hammerton Station and Cattal Station.
